National Nile Company for River Transportation was established in 1963, the ownership of the company was transferred to Marine Industries and Services Organization in 2009.It is the leading company in river transport in Egypt considered as an important source of national income. It owns a fleet equipped to transport all sizes of atypical cargo, as river transport is considered one of the most cheapest transportation. It owns a large number of river barges and tug boats. River barges having tonnage ranging between 600 to 900 tons. The company's fleets are capable of transporting a great quantity of dry cargo which make it the most economic transportation. It owns ports (El-Nahda port in Alexandria, El-Tebeen , Imbaba ports in Cairo and El-Akab port in Aswan). The company's activities concerned with transport operations/Towing, salvage, and floating for river barges / repair and maintenance/Fuel supply for river barges. |
